Yesterday, prof was so funny. He had to get home early because he said it was Valentine's. Hmmm...we all wonder why? :P

Yesterday as well, I learned about MS Visio. I have heard of it before but I never thought it was for the ease of creating flowcharts. It's so easy to use since even after you have moved a figure, the lines or arrows that are connected to it follows suit. You do not have to edit everything again, unlike if you're doing it in MS PowerPoint.

Also, posted (above) is my first ever Visio-made flowchart! It shows the steps on how to vote in the first automated elections in our country (the 2010 Election). Hope this flowchart will be helpful to everyone out there. :)

Note: 2 is the start of the process.

February 06, 2010

Today we start blogging. I feel somewhat condemned to start one. But sir seems convincing about how important blogging is. We get to use it in business, talk about the latest news, meet new people and learn about them, and learn some interesting things in life, like for example, the importance of baking soda (someone seemed to have blogged about that).

Today we also talked about Web 2.0 and Social Media.

It never occurred to me that what we are so used in using are types of what we call Web 2.0. Web 2.0 are web applications that allow users (like us!) interact with other users. We can own and have control on the data on a Web 2.0 application (like this blog I guess). Such sites also encourages us to add value to it (without any posts in this blog it's probably useless, thus adding value we did). :)

On the other side, Social Media is "media designed to be disseminated through social interaction, created using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques." What was that? Simply, its Facebook, this blog (again), Twitter, Wiki, Yelp, YouTube, Yahoo!Answers, and many more. They allow us to communicate with others, collaborate from different places and timezones, upload and share (or not share because you can make it private) photos and media, and contribute our reviews and opinions on a wide-range of things (from politics to celebrity crushes).

New terms, cool lesson, right? :)
